Chapter 2: Exploring and Focusing

In chapter two it talks about exploring your topic by first creating a plan. The plan should be lists of people you can talk to, questions to ask, resources, and a way to keep track of information. The second step of exploring your topic is to discuss your topic with other people who know what you're talking about and who can help you by sharing their experiences. Third step is to observe, you can get information by observing that wouldn't be available on another source. Forth is to look at sources, and it gives many ways you can find those sources and then step five is to identify the conversations that are found in the sources you find, conversations that are alike, and the differences. And then finally choose an issue. I feel like this is a really drawn out way of coming up with an issue on a paper, but i also feel like doing all this will result in a better opinion and a more persuasive paper. There have been plenty of times where I have jumped into writing a paper without exploring my topic and this is such a helpful chapter to those who have also struggled with breaking down each step in order to be successful.
