Chapter 11 is about developing your thesis statement, a crucial part of any paper. The first point made in chapter 11 is about using your resources and position statement by:
-Reviewing your position statement: deciding what to convey to your readers
-Review your notes: identify important info, ideas, and arguments; consider whether your info, ideas, and arguments are helpful; review and elaborate.
-Consider your purpose and role: deepen your understanding of your issue, how have your purposes effected you and what is your role as a writer now?
-Reflect on your readers: what will help you address your reader's particular needs?
The second point made in chapter 11 is drafting your thesis statement by considering what your learned through the reflection on your position, notes, and writing situation. Again you have to identify important info, ideas and arguments. Draft alternatives, an affective thesis invites your readers to learn something new, suggest that they change their attitudes or beliefs,or argue that they should take action of some kind. Basically your thesis should stick to your readers encouraging them to think about your topic. Consider the type pf document you plan to write, and focus your thesis statement.
